Tyrannosaurus with chicks

There's a lot of evidence that some dinosaurs were similar to birds in the way they took care of their young, even in some of the most ferocious carnivores. The furry covering on the juveniles is based on a similar covering of primitive feathers that's preserved on several fossils of small carnivorous dinosaurs found in China. The adult lacks this covering because an animal as large as a full-grown Tyrannosaurus wouldn't have needed insulation.

I spent a HUGE amount of time on this drawing; something like 40 hours in total. If you ever wonder why I don't seem too produce new art very frequently, it's because it's hard for me to draw a lot of this stuff when each picture takes me this long.
